Week 21 in the Middle . . .

On behalf of the Middle School faculty and staff, I wish all members of the Middle School community a most enjoyable ski week vacation.  If you are heading off to the slopes - be safe and enjoy . . . if you are planning to stay closer to home, enjoy all that this great city has to offer!

Student Life Update:

A huge thank you goes out to the entire Middle School Community for supporting the annual All School Book Sale!

We have collected over a thousand books, dvd's, games and CD's that will go to fund the dog shelter and the Read To Feed Program.

Congratulations to our CEESA Math Counts Team for placing three students in the top ten of the math competition and to the CEESA Band and Choir Blazers for amazing performances in Sofia and Bucharest.

We hope everyone has a wonderful ski break and we look forward to the Spring Session with the AMIS Choir Festival, the CEESA MUN Conference, the Spring Activities, the Middle School service learning projects and the trip out to the Dog shelter on February 27th.

Enjoy your break and be safe!

7th Grade Field Trip:

Grade 7 traveled through space exploration history to visit the International Space Exhibition currently at Millenaris Budapest.  With photo buddies, students explored over 100 exhibits, artifacts, and displays taking pictures and reading for information to successfully complete a scavenger hunt.

Students hunted for information about the Russian-American Space Race, the History of NASA, and the International Space Station.  After our trip through space history, grade 7 burned off some energy with bowling, pizza and a little bit of shopping. The pictures will be used in a science project focusing on the connections between science, technology and engineering.

Student Farewell:
Middle School will soon be saying goodbye to Grade 6 student, Mads Okkels.  Unfortunately for us, Mads will return to his Danish school at the end of February.  His final day with us will be the Grade 6 fieldtrip day, February 26th.  Mads will be remembered by his teachers as a clever, good natured and an eager learner.  He will be remembered by his friends as a good partner in projects, an engaged language learner and a very caring person.  We sadly say farewell to Mads.  We hope he stays in touch!  We wish him all the best!!
